Stealing: Where you can find me...

I am totally stealing this from my bestie Karla
who stole it first from a local radio station.

I'm sitting here,
sweating my tiny titties off
trying to think of a topic to blog about,
when I remember seeing Karla post this a couple weeks back.

I think it's a cool concept
and it gives you readers a little insight to my
day to day activites.

So here ya goes ladies and gents
(for that one gent that might be out there):

Where You Can Find Me On Any Given Day

Monday-Friday:
I am kicking butt at cosmetology school
from 9-5.
Not just any school-
the top in both North America and Europe.
Boo-yah!
I can do other peoples hair and makeup better
than I can do my own.

We are currently getting ready for the
Student Soiree-
which is a big fashion show!!
We get a model and do their hair, makeup, and outfit!!
That is happening this Thursday.
I have the 80s era
and my sister is my model.

Hair and makeup trial.

I am also working on a photographic contest.
I also need a model and need to do the cut, color,
and hairstyle for a shoot.
You need to stand out to win!
I'm going for a futuristic look :)
What I'm hoping for the hair color and makeup!!
Not really the droopy eyes, but the crystals.

Monday
Mondays are my resting days.
I sleep as late as my body will let me.
Normally meet up with Sir Dan for his lunch.
Come home and sit on the couch and do nothing.
It's the one day of the week where I can literally do nothing.
We also normally meet at BJs to do our weekly shopping.
Sometimes we don't feel like going tho.
we are literally the only couple that has
fun grocery shopping with each other.
Tuesday
Tuesday it's back to school.
Nothing exciting happens on Tuesdays.
I take clients on Tuesdays.
I come home and we eat dinner and relax.

Wednesday
Kinda the same as Tuesday.
Dan and I both don't work on Wednesdays.
We normally make a nice dinner
and hit up peachwave :)

Thursday
After school, I head straight to work.
It's a nice long 13 hour day.
Sir Dan works too.

Friday
Normally after school,
we'll go to the bar or at least out to eat.
It's hard to party when I have to get up on
Saturday for school and make people beautious.

Saturday
Saturday is like my Friday!
After school we normally have plans of some sort.
Meet up with people for dinner and drinks.
We definitely go out.
I think once we stayed in cause one of us wasn't feeling well.
Also coming up are many busy weekends:
this saturday is our anniversary,
so is next saturday and we leave for Costa Rica.

Sunday
Sundays are always up in the air.
We always sleep in and cuddle!!
It's the one morning we can do that!
We always go to the diner or bagelman and get breaky.
Then either we head up to his brothers
or hang out with my family for the day.
Either way,
we always end up at my families house for dinner :)
And wine sunday!

There ya have it!
A look into my weeks.
And now that I just broke them down,
I realize that I don't do all that much during the week.
Oh well!!!

Happy Hump Day!!

This time last year I was:
Relatively calm, not nervous whatsoever,
excited, but anxious!
Anxiously awaiting the moment I'd walk down that aisle
to meet my handsome groom...
Anxiously awaiting the look on his face once I turned down the aisle
and he saw me for the first time...
Anxiously awaiting the party that happened after the formalities.

Dan and I got married on June 1st, 2012.
However-
we actually signed our marriage certificate the week before,
on May 25th.
Why you ask?!
Here's the story:

Ever since I was old enough to start dreaming up my wedding day,
the date I always wanted to get married was May 25th,
I don't know why exactly,
but I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the beautiful May weather,
and the almost summer drift.
And lucky for Dan and I,
May 25th, 2012 was on a Friday!!!
A formal Friday night wedding is exactly what we wanted from the beginning.
Obviously you can sense how excited I was during the planning.
When we found our venue in New York,
the room we requested was available for May 25th,
which last year was the Friday leading into Memorial Day Weekend.
They informed us that they planted during the weekend,
which left Sir Dan and I wondering if we should wait.
Wait- to be able to have fresh flowers planted throughout the grounds.
Wait- one more week and the renovations throughout the whole venue to be done.
Wait- and not have my 'day'
In the end and after much discussion-
we waited one more week to have it all.
But we didn't want to have our marriage license in a state we didn't live.
It just didn't seem appropriate.
We've grown up in CT our whole lives,
this is where our love for each other has grown.
We wanted to be married in CT.
Sir Dan and I talked about how we could make this work:
we thought about having a church ceremony in CT
and then driving to New York for the reception.
But they were over an hour apart,
which meant most of our guests wouldn't come to one or the other.
That idea was out.
Then it hit us:
why not just have a JP 'marry' us a week before,
on my date,
and then we wouldn't have to worry about it the day of.
Most brides forget their marriage license in the midst of the
wedding day craziness,
this way, we could just be in the moment.
On May 25th 2012,
we signed the certificate of marriage.
It was a beautiful day,
made even more beautiful by our love for each other.
That night we went to our local favorite bar
and celebrated.

This Saturday is our official, unofficial anniversary.
And since we will be crazy busy on our unofficial official anniversary,
we are celebrating this Saturday.

What are we doing exactly?
As if Costa Rica for our anniversary isn't good enough,
we are recreating our very first date.
I have school during the day,
but then we are getting all dolled up
and heading to Olive Garden.
Yes this sounds weird,
yes it's not the Ritz Carlton,
but it's where I knew this man was my soul mate.
After dinner,
we are going to Stop&Shop and getting stuff to make
Apple Pie.
This all happened on our first date-
Sir Dan was working over nights and it was
a couple days before Christmas,
he was making an apple pie to bring to work.
I helped :)
He's an amazing cook.
And back then-
it gave him major man points.

June 1st we leave for the airport and head to Costa Rica!
It's like our anniversary just keeps getting better and better.
And we get to celebrate with my family :)

to follow along.

What did you do for your first anniversary?

A Weekend of Celebrations!

As I lay here in bed on this rainy Monday,
I look back onto such a rewarding,
happy, loving, fun filled weekend.

***Warning: There are a ton of fun pics in this post***

Since I started school,
I have not missed a single day!
That's almost 4 months worth of classes
and learning.
Most people probably do this all the time-
welp, if you knew me back in college,
you'd know that I was the queen of skipping.
But that's because I didn't like it...
Anywho,
I digress.
This weekend though,
I'd be missing both Friday and Saturday.

Friday was my baby sisters graduation from college.
It's been a super long haul for her
and the day finally came.
I couldn't have been a more proud sister.
And I am super thankful for my telephoto lens to capture it all:

She's the blond one behind her friend with the pink

Jerry from Ben&Jerry's Ice Cream..
he gave them all free ice cream cups

there she goes!

Only a little excited

She now has a double major:
Elementary Education and Liberal Studies.
After our fabulous lunch,
we all headed back to my parents to relax a bit.
But of course you have to go out and celebrate!
A new country bar opened up close by,
so we figured we'd try it.
The food was amazing,
but unfortunately they put little to no alcohol in their drinks.
Which is whatever-
but when your charging us for it,
put it in there!
We lined danced for a little bit,
then headed out.
It was a nice place,
but very young crowd!!
And it seemed like a big place for competition.
Oh well-
we made our own fun!

I'm in red, Kays in black

Saturday love was in the air!
Our good friends got married!!!
They've been dating for over 8 years,
and yesterday they became each others
permanent date!
It was a cloudy day,
but nothing could rain on their parade.
They had a beautiful church ceremony,
and an amazing reception!!
We ate, drank, and danced the night away
in celebration.
My legs and abs still are sore from
all the fun we had!
The handsome groom and his proud mama

beautiful!!

I'm still not use to seeing my name like this...
but I love it

After a fun night at the wedding,
as much as I wanted to sleep Sunday away,
the school I go to hosted a Salon-a-thon for the
Sandy Hook Promise.
It was the most rewarding experience
and something I can proudly say I participated in.
The whole school was decked out in green and white,
and OPI made a special nail polish color called
'Sandy Hook Green'
which was made specifically for the event!!
All proceeds from the event went
to the Sandy Hook Promise,
100%!!!!
I am honored to call this place
My School!!
all decked out in my green

awesome balloon towers all throughout the school,
and salon!

proud owner Dan :)

Unfortunately because of the rainy day,
our one year anniversary shoot had to be
postponed :(.
I can't believe its been a year!!!
